Switching off for our planet

e69caae591bde5908d22Most lighting was turned off in the city from 9:30pm on March 28th in Brisbane for the Earth Hour event to help conserve the planet’s energy resources.

 

For this global event, millions of people around the world switched off their lights and saved power usage to support this event, which extremely benefits our environment.

 Dr. Kees Hulsman is research member and senior lecturer from the Environment School of Griffith University. 

Dr. Hulsman said, “We have to change. We need the environment. The environment provides the eco-system and the resources. ”

 

 Furthermore, Dr. Kees Hulsman believes that media could increase public awareness about these issues.  

Dr. Kees Hulsman said, “If we start to say how important the issues are, people will start to listen.”
